Suzuki has brought something special to the Japan Mobility Show 2025: the Gixxer SF 250 FFV (Flex Fuel Version). This bike can run on a blend containing up to 85% ethanol. The Gixxer SF 250 FFV isn’t an entirely
new name for Indian riders. It has already been on sale in India, but this is the first time Suzuki is displaying what it calls an “overseas specification model.” That suggests the company could be exploring exports of this version to other markets outside Asia, although nothing is confirmed yet.

What makes this bike stand out is its ability to run on fuel made up of 85% ethanol and 15% petrol. To make that possible, Suzuki has reworked several components, including the injector, fuel pump, ECU, and even parts like the intake and exhaust valves. Since ethanol can react with certain materials, the bike also gets modified rubber and plastic parts, like fuel lines and filters.
Despite these changes, performance hasn’t taken a hit. The 249cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine produces roughly the same output as the regular model, around 27.9 hp on E85 fuel and 27.2 hp on E20, with a torque figure of 22.5 Nm. That’s almost identical to the standard Gixxer SF 250 sold in India.

Design-wise, Suzuki hasn’t made any major visual tweaks. The FFV continues to use the same sharp and sporty bodywork as the standard bike. It’s available in two colour options: matte red and matte black. In India, the regular Gixxer SF 250 Flex Fuel is priced between Rs 1.81 lakh and Rs 1.98 lakh (ex-showroom).
