Jeep Compass lovers, here is some exciting news, and the credit goes to the new GST 2.0 tax reforms, the SUV’s base model known as ‘Sport’ got cheaper in India. Its ex-showroom price has dropped from Rs 18.99 lakh to Rs 17.73 lakh, giving buyers a clear saving of Rs 1.26 lakh applicable from September 22.
The 2025 Jeep Compass Sport is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine, which produces an impressive 200 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque and is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This powerhouse also comes with a standard four-wheel drive (4x4) system, which means it is built to handle both everyday city traffic, commutes and rougher terrains with same confidence. Jeep also claims a towing capacity of around
900 kg, while fuel efficiency is 10 kmpl in the city, 13 kmpl on highways, and 11.4 kmpl combined. For a rugged SUV, these numbers are quite acceptable.
In terms of size and practicality, the Compass Sport can accommodate five passengers comfortably. It offers 770 liters of boot space, which can be expanded to 1693 liters when the rear seats are folded. With a wheelbase of 103.8 inches and ground clearance of 8.1 inches, the Compass Sport has city centric proportions with the capability to handle tough roads.
Safety has always been a priority for Jeep and the Compass Sport is packed with modern driver-assistance features and standard equipment includes Forward Collision Warning with Active Emergency Braking, Active Lane Management, Blind-spot and Cross-Path Detection, and a ParkView Rear Backup Camera. It is also equipped with tire pressure monitoring and advanced airbags, which includes special protection for the driver’s knees and side-seat mounted airbags.
Looking at the interior, the Compass Sport is equipped with the Uconnect 5 multimedia system, which features an 8.4-inch touchscreen display. It also supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This SUV also has 6-speaker audio system, cloth bucket seats, and heated power-adjustable side mirrors, cruise control and remote keyless entry that adds to the overall comfort.
On the outside, the SUV has 17-inch aluminum wheels and features LED low and high beam headlights, which not only improve visibility but also give the Compass a sharp and futuristic look.
