A voluntary recall has been issued for the Honda CB1000 Hornet SP in India, particularly for the units manufactured between 30 September 2024 and 22 August 2025. The recall targets two important technical issues that could hamper the long-term reliability of the bike as well as safety of the rider. Honda has identified a possible concern with the positioning of the fuel feed hose, which as the name suggests, carries fuel from the tank to the engine. Under certain riding scenarios, the fuel hose could shift, loosen, or rub against nearby parts if it is not secured correctly. As a result, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has issued a recall to inspect the hose routing and make sure it is properly fitted and tightened to avoid any possible fuel flow
or safety-related issues in the future.
Another concern that the company has identified that some parts inside the engine of the Honda CB1000 Hornet SP may cause the bike to use more engine oil than expected. The engine could consume oil faster in certain motorcycles because of the way some internal components behave or wear during operation. If engine oil levels drop too much and are not checked regularly, it can affect engine performance and long-term durability.
Here's How Honda Plans To Fix The Issue
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India says it will inspect all affected Honda CB1000 Hornet SP units at authorized BigWing Topline dealerships across the country. The company will check the routing and fitment of the fuel feed hose to ensure it is properly secured and functioning as required. Along with this, motorcycles showing higher engine oil consumption may also receive replacement of specific engine components if required. Honda has confirmed that all inspections and repairs under this recall campaign will be carried out completely free of cost, even if the motorcycle is no longer covered under warranty. It will contact affected customers through phone calls, SMS, and e-mails via its BigWing dealer network.
