Tata Motors has silently upgraded its beloved hatch, the Altroz, in India. The changes are exclusive to the Altroz Pure, which is the second-from-base variant in the model range. Tata Motors has added some genuinely useful kit to the cabin of this variant, while keeping its prices firmly in place, which means you'll continue to pay the same Rs 7.10 lakh to Rs 8.70 lakh (ex-showroom) for added features. Are you curious to know what has changed with the Tata Altroz Pure Variant? Read on.
What's New With The Tata Altroz Pure?
The most significant addition to the mid-spec variant is the larger 8.0-inch touchscreen. For reference, the Tata Altroz Pure was previously available with a 7.0-inch unit. The new display supports both wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. However, the Harman-sourced
system used earlier is no longer offered in this setup. There are changes to the cabin's look as well. The previous darker upholstery has been replaced with a lighter beige one. In addition, the Altroz Pure now gets a rear-view camera HD camera.
The core design of the SUV remains the same, but the variant now gets a shark-fin antenna. Note that it was solely available to the Pure S trim and above. Other features continue as it is.
This Feature Is Not Anymore Offered On The Altroz Pure
Tata has removed the LED headlamps from the Altroz Pure. They are replaced by halogen projector units, also offered on the base Smart variant. While the new infotainment package adds value, buyers who frequently drive after dark may find the downgrade in lighting performance worth considering.
Engine Options Remain Unchanged
Tata has made no changes under the skin. So, you can continue to have the Altroz Pure across petrol, CNG, and diesel powertrain options. The petrol and CNG versions can be had with either a manual or an AMT gearbox, while the diesel variant remains exclusively paired with a manual transmission.

No Change Despite Feature Updates
Despite the equipment reshuffle, Tata Motors has kept prices unchanged. The Altroz Pure range continues to be priced between Rs 7.10 lakh and Rs 8.70 lakh (ex-showroom). It comes across as a good option for buyers who value a larger touchscreen and enhanced in-car technology. However, those who prioritise superior headlight performance may find it worthwhile to consider a higher-spec trim.
