The recently implemented GST 2.0 regime has brought significant relief to two-wheeler buyers in India. Under the new rules, motorcycles with engine capacities of up to 350cc have received a notable tax reduction. One of the key beneficiaries of this revision is the Hero Xtreme 160R, a popular entry in the 160cc sporty commuter segment.
With the festive season around the corner, Hero MotoCorp has confirmed that the Xtreme 160R now carries a lower price tag. The motorcycle has received a cut of up to Rs 10,985, bringing its new ex-showroom price to Rs 1.29 lakh. This places it in a more competitive position against rivals in the same displacement class.
The Xtreme 160R comes powered by a 163.2cc, 4-stroke, air-oil cooled, 4-valve engine. It produces
a maximum power output of 16.9 hp at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 14.6 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The unit is paired with a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox and a multiplate wet clutch.

A segment-first panic brake alert system adds an extra layer of safety.
The Xtreme 160R rides on a tubular underbone diamond-type frame with a box-type swingarm. Tyre sizes stand at 100/80-17 (front) and 130/70-17 (rear), both tubeless. The motorcycle tips the scales at 145 kg kerb weight and comes with a 12-litre fuel tank.
