Renowned musician and composer Shankar Mahadevan has just added an electric luxury to his garage. The music icon who is best known as part of the Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy trio, has purchased the brand-new MG M9 Electric MPV, which is one of India’s most premium all-electric multi-purpose vehicles.
The MG M9 is priced at Rs 69.90 lakh (ex-showroom) and recently went on sale in India. Shankar Mahadevan joins a growing list of celebrities choosing sustainable luxury.
In a video on Instagram, Mahadevan and his wife are seen relaxing in the plush rear seats, while their children excitedly explore the car’s futuristic interior with an MG representative. The family’s joy perfectly reflects the comfort and class that the M9 offers.

Black shade, which is one of three premium color options alongside Pearl White with a Black Roof and Concrete Grey with a Black Roof. The car’s front design looks bold and modern, and features a large trapezoidal grille, sleek split LED headlights and connected daytime running lights (DRLs) that give it a bold road presence.
From the inside, the MG M9 is nothing short of a tech paradise as it offers 16-way adjustable seats with eight massage modes heating and ventilation and even a dual “Yacht-style” sunroof for an airy cabin experience. The 64-color ambient lighting adds to the mood, while the 13-speaker premium sound system with a subwoofer and amplifier delivers an immersive audio experience.

MG M9 is equipped with a 90 kWh NMC battery pack which powers an electric motor that produces 245 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. The M9 offers a range of up to 548 km on a single charge. MG also provides both an 11 kW wall box charger and a 3.3 kW portable charger that makes it convenient for home and on-the-go charging.
The MG M9 combines the practicality of an MPV with the performance and silence of an electric vehicle. Its luxurious features, long driving range and eco-friendly powertrain make it ideal for big families who love comfort and sustainability.
