Several prominent automakers, including Tata Motors and Kia, are all set to tap into the festive demand this year, with exciting car launches in the pipeline. Hence, interested buyers can expect the months leading up to Diwali to be the busiest in the calendar. If you're looking for a lifestyle electric SUV or a mileage-focused family car, waiting a little longer could open up plenty of choices. Here's a look at 5 upcoming SUVs expected to arrive in India before Diwali 2026.
Tata Sierra EV
The Sierra EV is among the most anticipated car launches of 2026. Why? This is the first time the SUV will wear an electric badge. The production model will debut on June 30, while prices are set to be revealed closer to Diwali. Buyers can expect attractive introductory prices due
to the festive season. The production model will have the familiar upright stance and a boxy style, except for a few EV-specific styling elements. It will be underpinned by Tata's Acti.ev architecture. Upon launch, it is anticipated to start at Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
Renault Duster Strong Hybrid
Renault will announce prices for the strong hybrid variant of the Duster before Diwali. The most attractive thing about the upcoming version is its powertrain that packs a 1.8-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with two electric motors. The setup delivers 158bhp and 172Nm overall, and is backed by a 1.4kWh battery. In terms of styling, the model will retain the same silhouette and features. The SUV is expected to ask around Rs 20 lakh at launch. This is an ex-showroom estimated figure.
Nissan Tekton
Another anticipated launch of the year is the Tekton midsize SUV from Nissan. The car is likely to share its platform with the new Renault Duster. Though the mechanical components will be closely related, Nissan is expected to give the Tekton its own distinct exterior styling, cabin layout, and feature list. The Tekton could become an important volume model for the Japanese brand in India ahead of the festive season. The Nissan SUV could be priced starting at Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom).
JSW Jetour T2
JSW is expected to launch its first independent product for India, based on the Jetour T2, around the festive month. The T2-based SUV will likely feature rugged and boxy styling. It could also have the same off-road-inspired design with premium interiors and modern technology as its international counterpart. Depending on the final India strategy, it could arrive with petrol or electrified powertrain options. If launched, the SUV would target buyers looking for an alternative to conventional premium SUVs with a more adventurous design. JSW's first-ever offering for India is likely to have a starting price of Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).

It is likely to be positioned above the Carnival, the Sorento is expected to offer three-row seating and a feature-rich cabin. Internationally, it is available with petrol, diesel, and hybrid powertrains, although the exact specifications for India remain under wraps. It is expected to start at Rs 27 lakh (ex-showroom).
