Tata Motors has officially announced a price increase of up to 1.5% across its entire passenger vehicle (PV) lineup — both ICE and electric — effective July 1, 2026. The announcement was made today through an official press release from TMPV. According to the release, this latest hike potentially affects every Tata car currently on sale, from the Tiago and Punch at the entry end to the Nexon, Sierra, Harrier, Safari and the EV range including the Curvv EV and Nexon EV. What the Price Hike Covers and Why It's Happening
The increase applies to the full portfolio — ICE and electric variants across all models and trims. The exact rupee increase will vary by model and variant, with the 1.5%
figure being the upper ceiling instead of a flat rate applied uniformly. On higher variants or the EV range — where prices go well above Rs 15 lakh — the absolute rupee impact is considerably more even if the percentage stays the same.
The official reason for the hike, as cited by TMPV (Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd.), is rising input costs along with sustained inflationary pressure. The company has stated it is absorbing a significant portion of these increases and passing on only part of the impact to buyers. The other underlying reasons may include raw material costs, logistics as well as component pricing. This pattern has been running higher across the auto industry through the first half of 2026.
What Buyers Should Do Before July 1
The practical window is clear: any buyer who finalises a booking and locks in the ex-showroom price before June 30 avoids the hike. Most dealerships will honour the pre-revision price on bookings confirmed with an advance payment before the cutoff, though this varies by dealer. It's worth calling your nearest Tata dealership today to confirm their specific process for locking in the current price.
One more thing to know: this announcement covers ex-showroom pricing only. On-road costs — registration, insurance and accessories — will be calculated on top of whatever the revised ex-showroom price is from July 1. For buyers on EMI, even a Rs 10,000–15,000 increase in ex-showroom price translates to a marginal change in monthly installment at typical loan tenures but the total cost of ownership does go up.
