The much-awaited Nissan Tekton SUV finally has a debut date, and it is July 9, 2026. The model is part of brand's most ambitious product offensive for India in years. It will make its way to the country's most fiercely contested segment, which already has the Creta, Seltos, and Grand Vitara. Nissan hasn't been the most active name in India's SUV conversation over the past few years. The new Tekton is an attempt to change that. Although it is too early to comment, but Nissan is expected to price its new mid-size SUV at around Rs 11 lakh onwards.
Nissan Tekton Design
Though the SUV has not been seen in its entirety, the teasers confirm that the Tekton makes no attempt to blend in with the typical mid-size pattern design. It seems to draw heavy inspiration from Nissan's
legendary global model, the Patrol, with boxy proportions and a boldly upright. The trapezoidal grille is accented by chrome detailing, while the headlamps are in C-shape. The slim daytime running lamps gives the nose an unmistakably modern edge. The chunky bumper at the front, massive skid plate and prominent body creases helps the Tekton to offer a rugged, purposeful look.
Move to the rear, and you'll see that Nissan has tried to maintain the coherent look with C-shaped LED taillamps. They are connected by a full-width light bar. The Tekton is touted as a multi-purpose SUV that is engineered to deliver everyday comfort.
Nissan Tekton Interior and Features
While Nissan is yet to pull the wraps off the full interior, the industry reports indicate that the model will offer a promising picture. Key possible elements are a multi-layered dashboard design accompanied by subtle colour themes and premium trim elements. As for the features, Nissan can equip the mid-size SUV with a flat-bottom steering wheel with integrated controls, a large touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, and ventilated front seats. The Safety kit is expected to include Level 2 ADAS, multiple airbags, and a 360-degree surround-view camera.

Nissan Tekton Engine
Though Nissan has not confirmed the powertrain, the Tekton SUV is likely to carry the same setup found on the Renault Duster. A 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine will be likely be a standard option, with higher-spec trims getting the more powerful 1.3-litre turbo-petrol unit. One of the most notable additions will likely be a hybrid powertrain with a 1.8-litre engine and 1.4kWh battery pack. Transmission options are likely to include both manual and DCT automatic options across the range. The Tekton sits on the Alliance CMF-B LS platform, which also underpins the new-generation Duster.
