Hyundai Motor India price cut: Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has announced major price cuts across its passenger vehicle lineup, confirming that the
full benefits of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms will be passed on to customers.
Price cuts effective September 22
The revised prices will take effect from September 22, 2025. Hyundai said the reduction will make its cars and SUVs more affordable, just ahead of the festive season. Discounts range from Rs 60,000 to Rs 2.4 lakh depending on the model.
GST reform impact on cars
The government slashed GST on small cars from 28% to 18%. Small cars are defined as vehicles under four metres with engines up to 1,200cc for petrol and 1,500cc for diesel.
Larger cars, above four metres with bigger engines, will now attract a 40% GST rate, but without an additional cess that was levied earlier.
Unsoo Kim, Managing Director of HMIL, said: “We sincerely appreciate the progressive and far-sighted move by the Government of India to reduce GST on passenger vehicles. This reform is not only a boost to the automotive industry but also a strong step towards empowering millions of customers by making personal mobility more affordable and accessible.”
