India Economic Conclave 2025: Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, outlined the company’s EV strategy
at IEC 2025 on December 18, 2025. Using a Bollywood analogy, the seasoned auto industry leader explained how Maruti’s wide-ranging portfolio is designed to appeal to every type of customer. “We have our Salman, Shah Rukh & Aamir in the portfolio,” he said while highlighting the range of offerings from Maruti. Partho Banerjee said that being the market leader, the company is going to focus across all the segments of customers and not going to pick and choose. "We will be watching very closely the trends and based on the market requirement, we are going to provide the products in line with the customer's needs," he said. Underlining that the brand caters to diverse customer segments, Partho Banerjee said, "you can't say that only one size will fit all; you need to have all the different types of stars in your portfolios." EV Expansion Strategy Highlighting the strategy about expanding the EV penetration, Partho Banerjee said that for EV segment, we need to again go back to the same basics and win the confidence of the customer. "We have made 1500 workshops across 1100 cities EV enabled," he said, adding that when Maruti started in India, it focused on after-sales service so that customers get seamless post-sale service.
