What is the story about?
Renault India on Friday said it will increase vehicle prices by up to 2 per cent from January, to offset the impact of rising input costs, reported PTI.
The French automaker sells three models -- Kwid, Triber and Kiger -- in the Indian market, according to PTI. "The price increase will vary across models and variants and has been necessitated by rising input costs and prevailing macroeconomic factors," the automaker said in a statement. Despite the revision, the company remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering high-quality products and services while ensuring a compelling value proposition for customers, it added.
Already, various brands like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi have announced hiking vehicle prices from next month, owing to weakening of the rupee against the euro.
Nissan car price hike
Nissan has also announced the increase in prices across its range by up to 3 per cent from January 1, 2026. Currently, the Magnite is the only offering from Nissan in India.Earlier this year, Nissan slashed the prices of the Magnite by Rs 52,000 to Rs 1 lakh following a revision in the Goods and Services Tax (GST). Currently, the compact SUV is priced between Rs 5.62 lakh and Rs 10.76 lakh (ex-showroom). However, from January, prices are expected to rise by Rs 17,000-32,000, taking the range between Rs 5.79 lakh and Rs 11.08 lakh.
