What is the story about?
Upcoming Skoda cars in India: Skoda Auto India is gearing up for a busy product roadmap in 2026 as it looks to refresh its mass-market lineup while also
evaluating a premium electric SUV for the Indian market. After a strong 2025 marked by the launch of the new-generation Kodiaq and the Octavia RS, the focus will now shift to updating core models such as the Kushaq and Slavia, both of which have been on sale for several years. According to details reported by Autocar India, Skoda is planning comprehensive facelifts for its midsize SUV and sedan to keep them competitive in fast-evolving segments dominated by feature-rich rivals.
Skoda Kushaq facelift
Estimated price: Rs 11 lakh to Rs 18 lakh
The Skoda Kushaq facelift is expected to arrive early next year with noticeable cosmetic and feature upgrades. Recent spy images hint at subtle revisions to the front and rear design, with the possibility of full-width LED light bars. Interior updates are likely to be more evolutionary, with refreshed trim finishes, revised colour themes and improved material quality.
Feature upgrades are expected to be the highlight. The updated Kushaq could introduce a segment-first rear-seat massage function, updated graphics for the digital instrument cluster and touchscreen, and significantly improved air-conditioning performance. A panoramic sunroof, missing from the current model, is also expected to be added.
Safety will see a major upgrade, with Level 2 ADAS expected to be offered, along with all-wheel disc brakes on the 1.5 litre TSI variants and a possible three-hundred-sixty-degree camera. Engine options are likely to remain unchanged, with the 1.0 litre and 1.5 litre turbo-petrol units continuing. However, reports suggest Skoda may replace the existing six-speed torque-converter automatic with a more modern 8 speed unit, according to Autocar India.
Skoda Slavia facelift
Estimated price: Rs 10 lakh to Rs 18 lakhThe Slavia facelift is expected later in 2026, at a time when key rivals such as the Honda City and Hyundai Verna are also due for updates. The Volkswagen Virtus, which shares its platform and powertrains with the Slavia, is also expected to receive a refresh around the same time.
Major sheet metal changes are unlikely, as test mules seen so far closely resemble the current sedan. However, revised lighting elements, updated bumpers and new alloy wheel designs are expected. Inside, the Slavia could adopt updated digital displays similar to the Kushaq facelift.
ADAS is likely to be added, addressing a key gap in the current model, especially as rivals already offer advanced safety tech. On the powertrain front, the most significant update could be the introduction of an 8 speed automatic gearbox in place of the existing six-speed unit on the 1.0 litre turbo-petrol engine, according to Autocar India.
Skoda Elroq electric SUV
Estimated price: Around Rs 45 lakhSkoda is also evaluating the Elroq electric SUV for India, although the company is yet to officially confirm its launch. If introduced, the Elroq would compete with premium EVs such as the Hyundai Ioniq Five and BMW iX1 long-wheelbase.
Sold in multiple rear-wheel-drive variants in Europe, the Elroq offers battery options ranging from 52 kilowatt-hours to 77 kilowatt-hours, with a claimed range of up to 560 kilometres. The SUV follows Skoda’s new Modern Solid design language and measures around four-point-four metres in length, offering a spacious cabin, generous storage and a feature-rich interior with a 13 inch touchscreen and a full ADAS suite, according to Autocar India.
