TVS Motor Company, on Thursday, launched its new electric scooter, the TVS Orbiter, at a price of ₹99,900 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru, inclusive of the PM e-Drive scheme). According to the company, the e-scooter is designed to offer
a practical and sustainable urban commuting option.
The TVS Orbiter features several segment-first innovations, including a 158 km IDC range, cruise control, hill hold assist, and 34 litres of under-seat storage, making it suitable for daily use. The scooter is available in six colours: Neon Sunburst, Stratos Blue, Lunar Grey, Stellar Silver, Cosmic Titanium, and Martian Copper.
Speaking at the launch of TVS Orbiter, Gaurav Gupta, President, India 2W Business, TVS Motor Company, said, “Leveraging our engineering
expertise and advanced capabilities, we are building products that set global benchmarks in quality, performance, and safety. With TVS Orbiter, we are expanding our EV ecosystem and accelerating the adoption of electric mobility in India.”
One of the key features of the TVS Orbiter is its industry-first 14-inch front wheel, which improves stability and ride comfort. The scooter also has a long 845 mm flat-form seat and a 290 mm straight-line footboard. Its 3.1 kWh battery and aerodynamic design deliver efficient performance and range.
Sudarshan Venu, Chairman and Managing Director of TVS Motor Company, in an exclusive interview with CNBC-TV18, said, “Three of the top five players in the two- and three-wheeler space are Indian companies.” He added, “The Indian two-wheeler industry, including TVS and Bajaj, is globally competitive with markets in Africa and Latin America.”
On demand, he said, “Customers in several markets, especially emerging economies, see value for our products.” Venu highlighted growth opportunities, saying, “There is a
strong opportunity for growth for the auto sector in the Indian economy and in global markets.”
The TVS Orbiter also offers advanced connectivity options. Riders can access a mobile app to check battery charge, odometer readings, and location, while features such as crash and fall alerts, geofencing, emergency notifications, and over-the-air updates are included.

Additional features include turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS display on the digital cluster, dual riding modes with regenerative braking, and parking assistance. LED headlamps, edge-to-edge combination lamps, and 169 mm ground clearance further enhance visibility and safety.

Regarding international markets, he added, “Govt has taken a lot of steps to improve market access to Europe, UK, Switzerland, Australia and UAE,” and said, “TVS will capitalise on the robust export demand and strong domestic demand.”
