What is the story about?
TVS Motor Company is set to launch its first adventure motorcycle, the Apache RTX 300, in India on October 15. The bike was first unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.
The Apache RTX 300 will be the first TVS model to feature the new 299cc RT-XD4 engine. This single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine produces 34.5 hp at 9,000 rpm and 28.5 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. It is likely to be paired with a six-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch.
According to media reports, patent filings and test mule sightings have revealed the bike’s design. The Apache RTX 300 will have a semi-faired look with twin LED headlamps, LED turn indicators, a muscular fuel tank, LED tail lamps, and a transparent windshield. The rear will feature a split-pillion grab rail connected to a luggage rack and an upswept exhaust.
The bike is built on a trellis frame and will have a fully adjustable upside-down front fork and a monoshock at the rear. It is expected to come with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels, emphasising long-distance touring rather than off-road riding. Braking duties are likely to be handled by disc brakes.
The Apache RTX 300 is expected to come equipped with raised handlebars, a two-piece stepped seat, a luggage rack, and an upright windshield. It is also expected to offer modern features like a TFT display, multiple ride modes, and traction control.
The bike is likely to go up against the KTM 250 Adventure in India.
