What is the story about?
India Yamaha Motor has announced a voluntary recall of over three lakh 125cc hybrid scooters after identifying a potential issue with the front brake caliper in select units.
The recall, announced on January 23, covers 3,06,635 scooters manufactured between May 2, 2024, and September 3, 2025, the company said in a release. The affected models include the RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid and Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid.
“Customer safety remains Yamaha’s highest priority,” the company said, adding that the recall has been initiated after it was found that, “under certain operating conditions, the front brake caliper exhibits limited function” in some scooters.
Yamaha said the replacement of the specific part will be carried out free of cost for all vehicles covered under the campaign.
Customers can check whether their scooter is part of the recall by visiting the voluntary recall section on the India Yamaha Motor website and entering the chassis number. They can also visit their nearest authorised Yamaha showroom for assistance, contact Yamaha’s toll-free number 1800-420-1600 or reach out via email, the company said.
The recall is effective immediately.
