What is the story about?
This week of May has brought a fresh wave of launches across the auto industry, with companies focusing on electric mobility, premium SUVs, luxury concepts and adventure-focused motorcycles.
From global unveilings to India-bound launches, several brands this week showcased what’s next in their lineups. Here’s a quick look at the biggest auto developments making headlines this week.
Hero XPulse 200 4V and Hero XPulse 200 Pro
Hero MotoCorp has officially launched the Hero XPulse 200 4V and Hero XPulse 200 Pro in the United Kingdom. The motorcycles were unveiled at Inch Perfect Trials in Ribble Valley, a popular off-road riding destination known for woodland trails, river crossings and technical terrain.
Both bikes are powered by a 199.6cc, single-cylinder, four-valve, oil-cooled engine paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The setup produces 18.9 BHP at 8,500 RPM and 17.35 Nm of torque at 6,500 RPM. Hero says the motorcycles have been tuned for strong low-end performance while also offering dependable touring ability.
Skoda Epiq
Skoda Auto has officially unveiled the production-spec Skoda Epiq electric SUV. The new launch will become the brand’s most compact and affordable EV globally. The SUV adopts Skoda’s ‘Modern Solid’ design language with an upright stance and rounded surfaces. At the front, it gets SKODA lettering on the bonnet, a gloss-black grille panel and sharp LED DRLs.
The Skoda Epiq was first previewed as a concept more than two years ago and has now entered its final production-ready phase. It will sit below the Skoda Elroq in the company’s global EV lineup.
Ferrari HC25
Ferrari has unveiled the Ferrari HC25, a one-off model developed under its Special Projects programme and based on the Ferrari F8 Spider.
The car was revealed during Ferrari Racing Days at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas. Designed by Ferrari Design Studio under chief design officer Flavio Manzoni, the HC25 was commissioned for a single private client. Ferrari says the HC25 acts as a design bridge between older V8 Ferrari models and newer flagship cars such as the Ferrari F80 and Ferrari 12Cilindri.
Honda City
Honda Cars India is set to unveil the updated Honda City this week, and undisguised images of the facelifted sedan have already surfaced online.
The updated Honda City adopts a cleaner and more mature design language inspired by newer global Honda models like the Honda Prelude and Honda Accord.
While the overall silhouette remains familiar, the facelift introduces sharper styling changes, revised exterior elements and subtle cabin updates. Several new premium features are also expected.
Honda ZR-V
Honda Cars India is all set to launch the new Honda ZR-V in India on May 22, 2026. The SUV will arrive as a completely built unit (CBU), pushing its expected price to around ₹50 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete models like the Volkswagen Tiguan, Skoda Kodiaq and Nissan X-Trail.
The Honda ZR-V uses a crossover-style design instead of a traditional upright SUV shape. It gets a large grille, slim LED headlamps, a sloping roofline, and a long wheelbase, which give it proportions closer to a raised hatchback.
