EKA Mobility and Chartered Speed Limited have received a Letter of Confirmation of Quantity (LOCQ) to deploy 1,750 electric buses in Bengaluru under the Government of India’s PM E-Drive Scheme.
This allotment forms nearly 39% of the city’s planned addition of 4,500 electric buses under the scheme. The move supports Bengaluru’s transition to electric public transport.
The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation has been adding electric buses in line with Karnataka’s clean mobility plans and the Government of India’s decarbonisation goals.
Chartered Speed Limited said safety is a key part of its electric vehicle operations. The company follows preventive maintenance practices, tracks battery health, and provides specialised training for drivers.
Earlier in 2025, Chartered Speed was awarded a contract to deploy over 1,000 electric buses under the Government of India’s Pradhan Mantri e-Bus Sewa Scheme.
The partnership brings together Chartered Speed’s experience in bus operations and EKA Mobility’s electric vehicle manufacturing and technology. The companies aim to provide dependable urban transport for commuters in Bengaluru.
