Ampere, the electric two-wheeler brand of Greaves Electric Mobility, has launched the Magnus G Max electric scooter. The new model is priced at ₹94,999
as an introductory, ex-showroom offer in India, inclusive of the PM e-Drive subsidy.
Ampere said the Magnus G Max is aimed at everyday family use. The scooter comes with a 3 kWh Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) battery.
Ampere claims a certified IDC range of 142 km and a real-world range of over 100 km in Eco mode. Charging from 20% to 80% takes about 4.5 hours. The battery carries a 5-year/75,000 km warranty.
The Magnus G Max gets a hub-mounted motor rated at 1.5 kW nominal and 2.4 kW peak. It offers three riding modes: Eco, City, and Reverse. The top speed is up to 65 kmph. The scooter is built on a dual-frame chassis with 165 mm ground clearance. Suspension includes a telescopic fork at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. Braking is handled by 130 mm drum brakes.
Ampere has equipped the scooter with 33 litres of under-seat storage. The company said this is among the largest in its price segment. Features include a 3.5-inch LCD digital console, a USB charging port, LED headlamp and indicators, and optional connected features via a TCU.
The Magnus G Max is available in three dual-tone colour options: Monsoon Blue, Matcha Green, and Cinnamon Copper.
Speaking at the launch, Vikas Singh, Managing Director of Greaves Electric Mobility, said, “The Magnus G Max is the outcome of extensive research into how Indian families use their scooters every day. From design and engineering to performance and safety, various aspects have been tested to aim to meet exacting real-world standards. Our focus has been on maximising the riding experience while ensuring consistency, reliability, and peace of mind across range, comfort, storage, and battery safety. Backed by our wide service and after sales ecosystem, the Magnus G Max is our commitment towards delivering dependable electric mobility and achieving customer satisfaction.”
Ampere highlighted that LFP batteries, while less energy-dense than NMC batteries, are considered safer due to a lower risk of thermal runaway.
The Magnus G Max is positioned above the Magnus Grand, which uses a 2.3 kWh battery. Ampere said the G Max offers a larger battery, higher top speed, and bigger storage than the Magnus Grand.
Comparable models in this price range include the TVS Orbiter (₹99,900), Bajaj Chetak C2501 (₹91,399), and Vida VX2 Go 3.4 kWh (₹1.02 lakh).
Greaves Electric Mobility said Ampere has over 17 years of experience in electric mobility and has set eight India Book of Records titles. The company said Ampere regularly ranks among the top six OEMs in monthly electric two-wheeler sales. Greaves added that if current market trends continue, the Magnus G Max could help Ampere move ahead of Ola Electric in overall two-wheeler sales rankings.
