MBA rankings change depending on who is doing the ranking. Some weigh research output. Others weigh faculty qualifications. Most students care about one thing: what is the average salary after graduation, and is the ROI worth the fees? This ranking prioritises placement outcomes and recruiter reputation.

What These Numbers Do Not Tell You
- Median salary is not the same as average salary. A few very high offers pull the average up. Median is a more honest measure.
- Highest package is not a realistic expectation. The Rs. 1 crore+ offers go to 2–3 students. Most graduates land Rs. 15–30 lakh.
- Placement percentage matters too. A college with 100% placement at Rs. 18 lakh average is better than one with 80% placement at Rs. 22 lakh average.
- Fees include hostel and living for 2 years. Factor Rs. 3–5 lakh in additional living expenses.

The Honest Advice
If you can get into an IIM or FMS — go. The ROI is almost guaranteed. If you are looking at colleges outside the top 10, compare fees vs placement ruthlessly. A Rs. 8 lakh MBA with Rs. 12 lakh average placement is a far better deal than a Rs. 20 lakh MBA with Rs. 14 lakh placement. The brand name matters — but only if the numbers back it up.
