Tennessee Tech has announced its decision to join the Southern Conference, effective July 1, 2026, after being a member of the Ohio Valley Conference since 1949. This move will expand the Southern Conference to an 11-team league, including institutions such as East Tennessee State, Chattanooga, and The Citadel. Tennessee Tech will compete in 14 of its 15 sports within the Southern Conference, excluding beach volleyball.
