What's Happening?
High school sports teams in the Southland, Aurora, Elgin, Naperville, and Lake County areas have kicked off their seasons with a series of football and volleyball matches. In football, teams such as Burlington Central, Jacobs, and McHenry are set to compete in the Fox Valley conference, while numerous nonconference games are scheduled, including matchups like Antioch at Schaumburg and Aurora Central Catholic at St. Edward. Volleyball results show Libertyville defeating Lakes with Claire Evans contributing 8 kills, and Hinsdale Central overcoming Lincoln-Way East in a three-set match. The volleyball season also saw Newark triumph over Ottawa Marquette, with Heather Buhle leading with 8 kills and 4 aces.
