Ralphie VI, the live mascot of the Colorado Buffaloes, has retired to a ranch, as announced by the university. The decision was made in the best interest of the buffalo, nicknamed Ember, who showed reluctance to perform the traditional run around Folsom Field. Ralphie VI has been a part of the Buffaloes' game-day tradition for four seasons. The university is currently training a new mascot, Ralphie VII, to take over the role.
