The Boston Celtics have signed Max Shulga, a former standout from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), to a two-way contract. Shulga, who was selected 57th overall in the 2025 NBA Draft, was acquired by the Celtics through a trade with the Orlando Magic. The 6'4" guard, originally from Kyiv, Ukraine, has a diverse background, having played high school basketball in Madrid, Spain, and spent three college seasons at Utah State before transferring to VCU in 2023. During his time at VCU, Shulga averaged 14.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.3 steals per game, earning first-team All-Atlantic 10 honors and the conference's Player of the Year award for the 2024/25 season.
