The defending champions India have made it into the final of the Asia Cup 2025 as they defeated Bangladesh by 41 runs in the Super 4s fixture in Dubai. With one game still remaining for India in the Super 4s,
the Men in Blue have officially qualified for the final on September 28. Batting first, India posted 168 runs for the loss of six wickets in their 20 overs. In reply, Bangladesh were bowled out for 127 runs in 19.3 overs.
Coming to bat first after losing the toss, India got a flying start as Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill put up an opening partnership of 77 runs in 6.2 overs. Gill got out after scoring 29 runs off 19 balls hitting two fours and a six, while Abhishek smashed 75 runs off just 37 balls hitting six fours and five sixes. After Abhishek’s dismissal, India suffered a mini collapse in the middle-overs and failed to get a big score. However, Hardik Pandya held one end as he got out on the last ball of the innings after scoring 38 runs off 29 balls hitting four fours and one six. For Bangladesh, Rishad Hossain took two wickets, while Mohammad Saifuddin, Mustafizur Rahman and Tanzim Hasan Sakib scalped a wicket each.
Kuldeep Yadav shines with figures of 3/18 as India register dominant win
Chasing the winning target, Bangladesh lost their first wicket at the score of four runs in 1.2 overs. After that, Saif Hassan and Parvez Hossain Emon added 42 runs for the second wicket. Parvez Hossain got out after scoring 21 runs off 19 balls hitting two fours and a six. On the other hand, Saif went on to complete his half-century and got out after scoring 69 runs off 51 balls hitting three fours and five sixes.
However, none of the other batters could stay at the crease for long as Bangladesh were bowled out with three balls remaining in the innings. For India, Kuldeep Yadav shone with the figures 3/18 in his spell of four overs. Apart from that, Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakaravarthy took two wickets each while Axar Patel and Tilak Varma scalped a wicket each. Now, Bangladesh will take on Pakistan in Dubai on September 25 and the winning side will becom second team to make it to the final against India.
