tour of Australia. While the Men in Blue will lock horns with West Indies in two Tests from October 2 to 14 across Ahmedabad and Delhi, they will then travel to Australia for limited-over series.

But ahead of the upcoming series, the Indian team have been handed a massive blow as they are likely to be without star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant. It is to be noted that Pant broke his ankle while attempting to reverse scoop a ball by Chris Woakes in the fourth Test during England tour. As a result, he was ruled out of the fifth Test and was sidelined for up to six weeks.

However, with six weeks completed, although Pant has joined the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru for rehabilitation, but he is likely to miss the upcoming series against West Indies and Australia. According to a report in Dainik Jagran, Pant’s injury will further take more than three to four weeks to heal completely.

This imples that he will miss the West Indies Test series, but a call on his participation in white-ball series against Australia also remains bleak. If the reports are to be believed, he is set to return to action in the Test series against South Africa at home, which is set to begin from mid-November.
