A superfast train between Bengaluru and Mumbai will start soon, joining the major economic hubs of India. "Very soon, we will be starting a superfast train between Bengaluru and Mumbai. Both cities are major economic hubs, and capacity expansion at their stations has now made this possible," Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw was quoted as saying in a statement by Surya's office. Surya noted that despite being two of India's most important economic hubs, Bengaluru and Mumbai were connected by only one train, the Udyan Express, which takes 24 hours to complete the journey. He added, "This was a demand pending for 30 years. In the last three decades, despite the growth of both cities, we have had only one superfast train between Bengaluru and Mumbai." "I am very happy that Tejasvi ji has been persistently following up for a superfast train between Bengaluru and Mumbai. Thank you, Tejasvi ji, for pursuing it so well. You have always been fighting for the people of Bengaluru," Vaishnaw said, praising Surya's efforts.

The new superfast train will help in decongesting travel, making it affordable and convenient for people to travel between the two cities.

Now, people will have an alternative to flights and buses to travel from Bengaluru to Mumbai.

Moreover, Surya also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Ashwini Vaishnaw for making this long-pending dream a reality.
