Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh received a threatening WhatsApp voice note demanding crores of rupees, following which Mumbai Police increased security outside his residence and launched an investigation
to trace the sender, officials said. The threat emerged in the backdrop of the firing incident at filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence in Juhu, which is currently under investigation by the Mumbai Crime Branch.
Police launched a search to identify the sender of the threatening voice note. Sources told News18 that the person who sent the message claimed to be associated with the Bishnoi gang. The claim is being verified as part of the ongoing probe.

Ranveer Singh played Hamza Ali Mazari, whose real identity is revealed as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, in a narrative built around covert intelligence operations and global geopolitical tensions.
A sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, is slated for release this year. The teaser shows Ranveer Singh reprising his role as Hamza, with flashbacks to his younger self as Jaskirat Singh Rangi. The returning cast includes Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan and Arjun Rampal. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 19.
