himself on the toe during India’s nets session. In several pictures going viral on the internet, Ishan can be seen lying on the ground in pain with physios checking him. According to the available information, Ishan got injured by Jasprit Bumrah’s toe-crushing yorker on Wednesday (February 11).

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to share an official update on Ishan’s injury, but according to the reporters present at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, there is nothing to worry about.

Ishan was India’s wicketkeeper-batter in their first Group A match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. He opened the innings along with world No. 1 T20I batter Abhishek Sharma at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on February 7 against the United States of America but was only able to score 20 runs from 16 balls with the help of 1 four and 2 sixes.

The Indian team management and fans will hope that Ishan remains fit and available for selection against Namibia.

Update on Abhishek

On the eve of the match, star batter Tilak Varma has shared a positive update about Abhishek Sharma’s and Jasprit Bumrah’s availability for match No. 18 of the T20 World Cup 2026. According to Tilak, Bumrah is available for the Namibia match, but a final call will be taken before the start of the match. As for Abhishek, who was admitted to a hospital in Delhi, he has been discharged and is doing well.

“When we reached Delhi, he (Abhishek) had been examined. He went to the hospital for the examination. So I think he has been discharged today, and he’s doing well. We have got one more day for the game, so hopefully we’ll decide by tomorrow (Thursday) how he feels, and we’ll go with it,” Tilak said when asked about an update on Abhishek during the pre-match press conference in Delhi on Wednesday.
