Tamhini Ghat is a beautiful mountain pass in Maharashtra. It lies between the villages of Mulshi and Tamhini. The area has become a popular destination, especially for people living in nearby cities like Pune and Mumbai, who visit to enjoy its peaceful surroundings.
How To Reach
To reach Tamhini Ghat from Pune, one can take Paud Road and then continue towards Mulshi Dam on Mulshi Road, and follow the signs leading to the ghat. The drive typically takes around 1.5 to 2 hours by car. If you are coming from Mumbai, take the Mumbai-Pune Expressway and exit at Khopoli, then head towards Pali. From there, continue on the road to Tamhini Ghat. The total journey from Mumbai usually takes close to 3 to 3.5 hours.
Why Aren’t There Potholes On Tamhini Ghat Road
Many people are surprised that the roads at Tamhini Ghat are completely free of potholes. While the exact reason is not confirmed, it is believed that the hilly terrain helps rainwater flow away quickly, preventing water from accumulating.
