BLACKPINK’s Jisoo Makes Surprise Super Bowl Debut, But It’s Not A Performance

(local time). She was part of Pokémon’s one-minute-long star-studded commercial that marked the franchise’s 30th anniversary.

The advertisement was part of Pokémon Company’s yearlong “What’s Your Favourite?” campaign, which sees well-known figures from around the world choosing their favourite character. The new commercial began with comedian and 2026 Grammy Awards host Trevor Noah posing the central question: “What’s my favourite?” before a series of stars from all walks of life reveal their picks in multiple languages.

Pop icon Lady Gaga sings alongside Jigglypuff, playfully praising the balloon Pokémon’s “12-octave vocal range,” while the BLACKPINK member chooses Eevee, telling audiences in Korean, “I think she resembles me a bit.” Meanwhile, the former The Daily Show host named Psyduck as his favourite, while joking that it is “funny” like him.

The commercial also featured Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc, Puerto Rican rapper Young Miko, Spanish football star Lamine Yamal, and Never Have I Ever actress Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, who named Arcanine, Gengar, Zygarde, and Luxray as their favourites, respectively.

Jisoo Has Partenered With Pokémon Company For A Merchandise Line

However, Jisoo’s collaboration with Pokémon extends beyond the commercial. The company has announced a merchandise line created in partnership with the K-pop star, which will feature items such as plush toys, keychains, hats, and other collectables inspired by her favourite character, Eevee. Besides appearing in the commercial, the BLACKPINK member also posted a series of pictures on her Instagram account to promote her latest collaboration with Pokémon.

In the caption of the post, Jisoo wrote, “My fluffy little companion and adventurer is also my favourite Pokémon: Eevee. What’s yours? #Pokemon30.”

While speaking with Rolling Stone about her merchandise line with Pokémon, Jisoo reflected on her childhood connection to the franchise. “My first memory of Pokémon is watching the animated series when I was young and feeling completely drawn into it. It felt fun and a little strange in a good way, like a small world I could step into after a long day,” she shared.

When asked why she liked Eevee over others, the K-pop star mentioned, “I liked Eevee right away because it’s so cute. But I grew to like it even more after fans started saying it reminded them of me. Over time, hearing that made me feel a personal connection with Eevee.”
