Konkona Sen Sharma is stepping behind the camera for her first long-form digital project, and she’s bringing in a fresh romantic pairing to lead the series. Aditi Rao Hydari and Barun Sobti have been confirmed
as the stars of the yet-untitled comedy series, which is reportedly set in the lively neighbourhoods of South Delhi.
The project, developed for Amazon Prime Video, marks Konkona’s debut as a director in the web series format. She is co-directing alongside Jaydeep Sarkar, known for his work on Feels Like Ishq (2021) and Rainbow Rishta (2023). According to reports by Variety Indian, Konkona was keen to introduce a new on-screen pairing and found the perfect chemistry in Hydari and Sobti, both of whom are established in the romance genre but have never shared screen space before.
While plot details remain under wraps, the series is described as a contemporary romantic comedy. Shooting has reportedly begun, with the show expected to premiere in late 2026 or early 2027.
Konkona herself recently appeared in Rohan Sippy’s crime thriller series Search: The Naina Murder Case. She returns to direction three years after her acclaimed debut with A Death in the Gunj (2017) and her segment in Netflix’s Lust Stories 2 (2023).
Aditi Rao Hydari’s recent work includes Zee Studios’ silent film Gandhi Talks alongside Vijay Sethupathi and Arvind Swami. She will next appear with her husband Siddharth in Netflix’s Lust Stories 3, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, and is also involved in Imtiaz Ali’s romantic series O Saathi Re and Varun V Sharma’s Parivarik Manoranjan.
Barun Sobti is set to return with Kohrra Season 2, releasing on February 12. He will star opposite Hasleen Kaur in Hardik Mehta’s series Ikatthe and is expected to begin work on Asur Season 3 in mid-2026.
