Abhishek Sharma Will Be Back Against Pakistan, Confirms Suryakumar Yadav

Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav has confirmed that Abhishek Sharma will return to action when India take on arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday, February 15 in Colombo.

on the second T20 World Cup fixture, against Namibia, due to a stomach infection. He was admitted to Delhi hospital and was even discharged a day prior to the match. However, the management didn’t rush him into the playing XI and, instead, rested him for the game.

Coming to Colombo, Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav confirmed Abhishek’s return, quipping that if the Pakistan captain wants to see the young opener in action, then the team management will name him in the final line-up.

If Pak wants us to play Abhishek, then done. He will play tomorrow,” Suryakumar Yadav says in jest.

But jokes apart, the Indian captain confirmed that Abhishek will return to the playing XI in the game against Pakistan on Sunday evening.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha addressed the media and said that they want Abhishek to play the crucial game on Sunday.

“I really hope – we all know he’s a good player and I really hope he plays tomorrow (Sunday) because we want to play against the best team they have and I really hope he is recovering well and can play tomorrow”, Agha said.
