14 New Self-Bag Drop Counters Inaugurated At Mumbai Airport's Terminal 2

To counter massive rush and save commuters’ time, Mumbai Airport has inaugurated 14 hybrid Self Bag Drop (SBD) counters at Terminal 2 (T2). These services are setup for faster check-in at the Chhatrapati

Self Bag Drop At Mumbai Airport: Step-By-Step Guide

Print Boarding Pass and Baggage Tag: Use a self-check-in kiosk to print your boarding pass and baggage tag and attach the baggage tag to your luggage.

Proceed to the Self-Baggage Drop Area: Scan your boarding pass at the kiosk. Ensure that your baggage does not contain prohibited or restricted items.

Place Baggage on the Belt: Load your tagged baggage onto the belt. The system will automatically process and transfer your baggage to the aircraft.

This facility was launched to manage the rush at the airport during peak and off-peak season. As per the data, the SBD users have increased by 40 per cent from 2024 to 2025. In 2024, 388,446 passengers availed the service and in 2025, the number increased to 560,275.
