The cyclists are delivering letters and Christmas wish lists addressed to Santa Claus from St. Nikolaus, a town in Germany's Saarland state. The journey, which will take approximately two weeks, involves cycling through Germany, Denmark, and Sweden before reaching Finland. This initiative is part of a tradition dating back to 1967, where Deutsche Post volunteers respond to over 30,000 letters annually addressed to Santa Claus. St. Nikolaus himself handed over the letters to the cyclists, who are expected to receive a reply from Santa Claus in Finland.
