Taking to Instagram, Vikrant wrote, "I’ve been thinking since yesterday की मैं क्या लिखूँ? कैसे आप सबका शुक्रिया अदा करूँ? ( What should I write? How do I thank all of you?) And I’m still unable to. So hopefully a simple thank you from the bottom heart would suffice I’m grateful beyond words for your continued support in my journey. Thank you, thank you, thank you each one of you This dreamlike life is only because of you."

Vikrant and his 12th Fail director, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, were all smiles as they accepted their Silver Lotus Award (Rajat Kamal) and Golden Lotus Award (Swarna Kamal), respectively, from President Droupadi Murmu at the grand ceremony of the 71st National Film Awards. The moment marked not just a career high but also a personal milestone for the actor.
Earlier, speaking about the honour, Vikrant had admitted, "It’s every actor's dream to win a National Award. I would be lying if I say that I never wanted one. But I'm glad that finally, a big dream has been fulfilled." However, the actor also acknowledged that with such accolades comes greater responsibility. “There’s a bit of pressure too, with this recognition, which is the highest form of recognition any actor can get, to go out there and better myself as an actor, to tell better stories, to represent the common man,” Vikrant shared.
