can anticipate subtle modifications to the front and rear fascias, likely including revised headlight designs and updated bumper elements. Furthermore, new alloy wheel designs are a common feature in such mid-cycle refreshes, promising a slightly altered visual appeal for these luxury SUVs. These changes, while not revolutionary, are designed to keep the models looking fresh and competitive in their respective segments, aligning with Mercedes-Benz's strategy of gradual evolution for its established vehicle lines.
Interior Tech Advancements
Inside, the most significant potential upgrade could be the introduction of Mercedes-Benz's Superscreen system on the GLE. This advanced display setup, previously seen on models like the CLA Electric, integrates a 10.25-inch digital driver's display seamlessly with a large 14.6-inch central touchscreen and an additional 14-inch passenger screen. While not confirmed for all models, its inclusion would represent a major leap in in-car technology and user interface. Beyond the Superscreen, minor revisions to the dashboard layout, switchgear, and steering wheel design are also plausible, contributing to a more modern and sophisticated cabin ambiance. These interior enhancements aim to elevate the driving experience through enhanced connectivity and digital integration.
Powertrain Continuity
Underneath the hood, the updated models are not expected to introduce significant powertrain changes. Mercedes-Benz will likely retain the current range of robust turbo-petrol and diesel engines. For the Indian market, the GLS currently features 3-litre, six-cylinder engines offering 381hp for the turbo-petrol and 367hp for the diesel, both augmented by a 20hp mild-hybrid system and standard all-wheel drive. The GLE shares its turbo-petrol engine with the GLS but in a lower tune (367hp), and also offers 2-litre four-cylinder (269hp) and 3-litre six-cylinder (367hp) diesel options, all with standard all-wheel drive and mild-hybrid technology. The GLE Coupe in India is currently offered exclusively in its AMG guise with a 435hp 3-litre turbo-petrol unit, maintaining a familiar and potent performance profile across the lineup.
