GLE's Stylish Evolution
The Mercedes-Benz GLE has received a significant visual update, presenting a sharper and more modern appearance across its SUV, Coupe, and AMG 53 variants.
The front end now features redesigned lighting with distinctive tri-star elements, updated bumpers, and revised grille patterns. For the Coupe version, the signature sloping roofline is retained, emphasizing its sporty character. The high-performance AMG GLE 53 further distinguishes itself with more aggressive air intakes, bespoke alloy wheel designs, and a sportier overall aesthetic. Subtle aerodynamic improvements and wing-inspired detailing have also been incorporated into certain trim levels, enhancing both form and function.
GLE Powertrain Advancements
Under the hood, the GLE range benefits from substantial mechanical enhancements. The GLE 580 now boasts an increased output from its 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, producing 537hp and 750Nm, a notable bump in power and torque. The GLE 450 retains its 3.0-litre inline-six engine, which now delivers an improved 560Nm thanks to refinements in intake and combustion processes. A key highlight is the introduction of the GLE 450e plug-in hybrid, which replaces its predecessor's four-cylinder setup with a new inline-six engine. This new hybrid variant offers an impressive WLTP-rated electric-only range of 105km. Furthermore, the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 models now offer both mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid options. The new plug-in hybrid system delivers a formidable 585hp and 750Nm, achieving 0-100kph in just 4.5 seconds, with an electric-only top speed of 140kph.
GLE Interior & Tech
The interior of the updated GLE, including SUV, Coupe, and AMG versions, receives a host of refinements. Passengers will find new upholstery choices, fresh trim inserts, and significantly improved infotainment system functionality. While the AMG variants maintain their performance-oriented cabin design, the standard SUV and Coupe trims focus on enhancing luxury and connectivity features. These updates ensure a more premium and user-friendly experience within the updated GLE models.
GLS Flagship Design
The Mercedes-Benz GLS facelift receives a more understated yet sophisticated styling update, carefully preserving its imposing flagship SUV proportions. Key exterior revisions include the standard fitment of Mercedes' advanced DIGITAL LIGHT headlamps, subtle updates to the grille detailing, revised bumpers, and redesigned tail-lamp signatures. The introduction of new alloy wheel designs and additional trim options further contributes to a modernized and elegant road presence, reinforcing its status as a top-tier luxury vehicle.
GLS Engine Options
The GLS 450 is expected to continue with its 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six petrol engine, enhanced by 48V mild-hybrid technology, delivering approximately 375hp. This setup is designed to provide a smoother low-end response and improved refinement during cruising. The GLS 580 retains its 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 mild-hybrid powertrain, which has been tuned for enhanced performance and responsiveness. Internationally, this V8 engine produces around 510hp, with the latest facelifted global versions seeing even greater outputs in certain markets. For markets like India, Mercedes-Benz is likely to maintain the 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel engine option, which remains a popular choice in the luxury SUV segment due to its substantial torque delivery and suitability for highway driving. All variants are equipped with the 9-speed automatic transmission and 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system, ensuring effortless long-distance travel, excellent highway stability, and the refined driving experience characteristic of the GLS.
GLS Cabin Luxury
The cabin of the updated Mercedes-Benz GLS undergoes a significant technological upgrade, now featuring the impressive Superscreen setup with three integrated displays as standard across all variants. This advanced system enhances the driver and passenger experience with its seamless integration and expansive visual interface. Complementing the technological advancements are new interior color themes, updated trim finishes, and additional comfort features, all meticulously designed to reinforce the GLS's position as Mercedes-Benz's ultimate flagship luxury SUV and provide an unparalleled sense of opulence and sophistication.
