What's Happening?
Boldyn Networks is collaborating with the City of Chesapeake, Virginia, to deploy a city-owned private wireless network. This initiative is part of Chesapeake's Chesapeake Connects program, aimed at enhancing connectivity and supporting smart city strategies. The network will provide secure, dedicated wireless services for municipal departments, schools, libraries, and first responders. It includes a high-bandwidth CBRS overlay for fixed wireless broadband applications and a low-power, wide-area network (LPWAN) to support IoT endpoints. The network will facilitate smart traffic systems, improved communications for emergency services, IoT-based monitoring of public utilities, and digital equity initiatives for community institutions.
