Millennium Space Systems, a Boeing Company, has commenced the on-orbit commissioning of NASA's Tandem Reconnection and Cusp Electrodynamics Reconnaissance Satellites (TRACERS) following their successful launch. The TRACERS mission, launched on July 23, 2025, aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base, aims to study magnetic reconnection around Earth. This process involves the exchange of energy between electrically charged plasmas in the atmosphere, which is crucial for understanding how the Sun's solar wind interacts with Earth's magnetosphere. Millennium Space Systems designed, built, and tested the TRACERS spacecraft and is managing mission operations from its Mission Operations Center.
