Formula Electric Belgium, a team of students from KU Leuven and Thomas More, has made history at the Formula Student Germany competition by successfully completing the full ten-lap Trackdrive event with a self-driving race car. This achievement marks a significant milestone for the team, which has been developing autonomous racing technology. The event, held at the Hockenheim circuit, is part of the prestigious international Formula Student series, attracting over 3,000 students from around the world. The Belgian team's car, powered by a 6.8 kWh battery, can reach speeds of up to 140 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds.
