Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the production of hybrid battery electrodes and flagged off Suzuki's first global electric vehicle (EV), the e-VITARA, from Hansalpur, Gujarat. This event marks India's emergence as Suzuki's global EV hub, advancing the country's self-reliance and green mobility initiatives. The localized production of hybrid battery electrodes and the export of battery electric vehicles to over 100 countries are significant steps in India's Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision. The TDS Lithium-Ion Battery plant, a joint venture of Toshiba, Denso, and Suzuki, will manufacture over 80% of the battery value within India.
