The city of Aurora is evaluating a proposal to invest over $4 million in new dispatch and records management software for its public safety departments. The proposed five-year contract with Mark43, Inc. aims to replace the current Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system used by the fire and police departments, as well as the Records Management System (RMS) used by the police. Aurora Police Cmdr. Bryan Handell presented the proposal, highlighting dissatisfaction with the existing Hexagon software, which is nearing the end of its lifecycle. A survey revealed that nearly 80% of police employees are dissatisfied with the current system, prompting the city to seek alternatives.
