KT, a South Korean telecom operator, has partnered with Viettel Group, Vietnam’s largest carrier, to advance cooperation in artificial intelligence across Southeast Asia. The partnership, formalized by KT CEO Kim Young-shub and Viettel Chairman and CEO Tao Duc Thang, aims to develop AI language models, create industry-specific AX platforms, and expand the Southeast Asian AX ecosystem through global alliances. The collaboration also includes joint research on AI-powered cybersecurity to combat voice phishing and deepfake crimes. This initiative builds on a framework agreement signed in May and moves the project into the implementation phase.
