According to FanGraphs (which factors in age and proximity to the big leagues), there is a new #1 in the Rays system as 20-year old Adrian Santana has claimed the top spot. The 2023 31st overall pick is hitting .265/.326/.336 with 2 HR and 42 SB, registering a 95 wRC+ over 359 PA in High-A.
Meanwhile, Ty Johnson continues to be the team’s top minor
league pitcher. The 23-year old came to the Rays as part of the return for Isaac Paredes and is having a fantastic season. Over 17 games — 11 starts — Johnson has compiled a 2.81 ERA | 2.62 FIP with a 34.6 K% & 11.0 BB% over 64 IP.
