The Portland Trail Blazers have been moderately busy through the first month of NBA Free Agency. After adding Jrue Holiday via trade and Yang Hansen at the draft, the franchise has more recently signed Damian Lillard and Blake Wesley to free agent deals.
ESPN has released its latest power ranking placing Oregon franchise 21st with analyst Kevin Pelton writing:
The two most exciting Portland offseason moves might not pay dividends next season. Damian Lillard’s return won’t likely happen until 2026-27
ADafter his left Achilles tear in April, while No. 16 pick Yang Hansen will need time to adjust to the NBA. Still, bringing Lillard back to where he long starred and drafting Yang has energized Blazers fans in the wake of a 36-46 finish last season. If Portland is going to keep that up, dealing for veteran guard Jrue Holiday to complement Scoot Henderson and Shaedon Sharpe will be the biggest factor.
