The Cubs have been accumulating relievers at this year’s trade deadline and here’s another:
Cubs acquiring reliever Taylor Rogers from Pirates, source tells @TheAthletic.

This means, among other things, that both Rogers twins (not “Twins” though) have been traded at the deadline. Tyler Rogers was sent from the Giants to the Mets yesterday. And now his twin brother is a Cub, bolstering the bullpen from the left side.
Taylor Rogers, in fact, was just traded to the Pirates from the Reds yesterday in the Ke’Bryan
Hayes deal. What was your favorite part of the Taylor Rogers era in Pittsburgh?
Anyway.
Taylor Rogers has had a solid year with the Reds, with a 2.40 ERA and 1.455 WHIP in 40 relief appearances. He’s got a bit of a high walk rate this year, but has struck out 34 in 33 innings. Before this year Rogers spent several years with the Twins, and has also pitched for the Padres, Brewers and Giants.
When the return from this deal is made public I’ll update this article.
