The University of Kentucky men’s basketball team hit the court with the La Familia TBT team this week.
Mark Pope invited La Familia to practice with the current Cats, just as he did last year, which provided us with some impressive practice highlights to get an early look at this year’s Wildcats, as well as a glimpse of the TBT team that plays its first game on Friday.
The La Familia team has several former Wildcats on the roster, including Willie Cauley-Stein, Andrew and Aaron Harrison, Doron Lamb,
Archie Goodwin, DeAndre Liggins, Kahlil Whitney, and Ansley Almonor.
The team also brought back Kerem Kanter (brother of Enes Kanter) and added former Murray State Racer DJ Burns and Lexington native Marques Warrick, who played at Northern Kentucky University and Missouri.
Getting in this practice time with the TBT guys, many of whom have been playing professionally or have played professionally, is a great benefit for the current Cats, and it’s really neat to see the relationship and support each group offers the other.
Hopefully, we’ll see the current Cats cheering on La Familia during TBT, just as we did last year.
UK Athletics has a photo gallery from the practice that you can check out here.
Competed with some familiar faces at practice yesterday.
