Juliano Belletti has been outlined his aims for the future after taking over as Barcelona Atletic boss in time for the new season.
It’s been a difficult time for the team over the last few months. Barca Atletic were relegated last season and have waved goodbye to a host of players this summer.
Yet Belletti is feeling optimistic and wants his players to enjoy being at Barcelona.
“I feel very happy and excited about this new challenge. It’s exactly where I wanted to be,” he told the club’s media.
“In this
ADcategory league and with these footballers. The objective is to continue with the dynamic of last year and enhance the talent; give them a lot of confidence, through hard work, so that they can enjoy what it means to be at FC Barcelona.
“There is a lot of competition, of course. I will work day by day so that they are ready for what is to come.”
Belletti is also aware that he needs to be preparing players for the first team but has an advantage as he knows many of them well from his time in charge of Juvenil A.
“The lads are getting to know each other and the staff are understanding what each one needs. This aspect is very different today, unlike when I played. There are a lot of studies and resources to get more out of the preparation.” he added.
“I don’t forget that they have to be prepared and confident. Now, luckily, there is a coach who takes full advantage of this resource .”
“I feel like the lads are still hungry. It’s something I notice every day. They want more, and being at this club means that.”
“I’m going to take advantage of the fact that most of them know me, which will also help those who were already in the reserve team and those who come from outside. In all situations, they have to take advantage of being at FC Barcelona, enjoy it, and understand the demands . From what I’ve seen, they’re ready to face it.”
Belletti will be working with some seriously talented players this season, including the likes of Jan Virgili, Ibrahim Diarra and Landry Farre, and it will be interesting to see how they develop.
