Real Madrid have decided to retain Dani Ceballos this summer after coach Xabi Alonso informed the club that the squad would lack sufficient depth in midfield if the Spanish player were to leave, according to a report from Cadena SER.
Ceballos had been strongly linked with a return to Real Betis, while other clubs such as Villarreal also expressed interest in securing his signing. However, it now appears that he will remain at Madrid. Though he is not expected to play a leading role, his continued
presence is seen as important for maintaining squad depth.
While Real Madrid were previously inclined to sell Ceballos, the club struggled to identify a clear replacement in the transfer market. As a result, they ultimately opted to keep the midfielder after Alonso made a convincing case, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the current number of options in midfield for what’s going to be a long and demanding season for Los Blancos, club sources told Managing Madrid.
